Stuck inside a cave
With no where else to look
But one of us was brave
And went beyond our nook
Still facing the dark
Still inside the gloom
One man to embark
Exceeding our tomb
No one tends to peek
Beyond what they can't see
Some turn the other cheek
But I do not agree
We need to be aware
Of what else dwells out there
"I tried."

ReplyDeleteI like your first stanza! Also the idea your are conveying about looking beyond what we know.
ReplyDeleteGood job on your sonnet. I like your own quote at the end because that is exactly how I felt while I was writing mine!
ReplyDeleteI love how you personalized your blog it is adorable! How do you plan to study for the vocab final? here is a link to my blog http://rnolanrhsenglitcomp.blogspot.com/
hahah I love the "I tried" at the bottom. The turn the other cheek of this sonnet is my favorite part, allusion to the bible and aalllll. Very smart, clever. Maybe sortof simple rhyming there but rhyming is difficult. We were not born eminem. :) Definitely relates to Allegory of the Cave, and definitely paints and clear picture for the reader.
ReplyDeleteAnnette! I really liked your sonnet! It's probably one of the best I read so far! So give yourself some credit girl (:
